Match it and new hardware drops straight into the holes already drilled in your doors. A knob takes a single fixing, so the measurement simply doesn't apply.

Measure center-to-center — from the middle of one screw hole to the middle of the next. Knobs take a single fixing, so they carry no center-to-center measurement.

Across different makers, treat finish names as separate: each brand names and plates its own, so one brand's Satin Nickel is not guaranteed to read identically to another's. Staying inside one series is the reliable way to match.
